Part 01
What changes the price
Four things move the number more than anything else. How many pages you need, because each service and area worth ranking for wants its own. Whether the site takes money or bookings, because payments and availability rules are real systems, not a plugin. Who writes the words. And what it connects to, such as a dashboard, referral tracking or an assistant.
Design polish matters far less to the price than people expect. A fast, clear site costs less than a slow, decorated one.
Part 02
The running costs nobody mentions
The build is a once-off. These are not, and a quote that leaves them out is not the full price.
- Your domain
- Included in every package
- Care plan
- R350 to R650 a month, or a call-out fee when needed
- Card payments, PayFast
- 3.2% + R2.00 per payment, excl. VAT
- Pay by bank, Ozow
- 1.5% per payment
Part 03
What a cheap quote usually leaves out
Before you compare two quotes, ask each one the same questions. Is the domain included, and registered in your name? Is analytics installed, and who can see it? Is the site tested on a real entry level phone? Is your Google Business Profile set up? Who owns the site if you leave? What happens, and what does it cost, after launch? A lower price with three of those missing is not cheaper.
